Judge’s Commentary*:

"Let There Be Peace" was not what I expected from just reading the title. This sweet picture book by Michelle Maddox and illustrated by Bobby Walton tells the story of a mother saying "Let there be peace, peace for one day in our house."  Her daughter asks her what she means and she explains that it would be things like, the children getting dressed on time, doing their best in school, getting homework done, and baths without a lot of mess. Simple things that would makes a mother's day be peaceful.

This was a very nice story and the illustrations were perfect. It is written in rhyme, which makes it even more delightful. It is easy to read and would also make a nice read aloud. It would be a nice addition to any library.
