School Visits

I am available to visit schools! I can read my book, talk about the writing/publishing a book process, and/or encourage students to read and learn what good readers do when they read.

The presentation aligns to the Common Core Standards:

RL1 - Answering key questions about a text. (There are beginning, during, and after questions in the book)

RL3- Identifying characters, setting, and events. (Characters and events are ones the children can relate to: text to self)

RL4- Ask questions about unknown words in a text. (There is a glossary in the book)

RL7- Describe the relationship between the story and the illustrations (Her book shows what peace looks like and sounds like)

RL10- Actively engage in reading activities with purpose and understanding (Her presentation includes movement and music to align with the story)

RF2a - Recognizes rhymig words (Her book has rhyiming text)

My book "Let There Be Peace" is the first book in the Peace series which teaches children about what peace looks like and sounds like. The general audience for this book is from ages Birth-5th grade.
